How competitive are graduate school programs at Korean universities for international students?
I am considering the prospect of completing a masters degree at a Korean university because my long term plans are to permanently relocate to Korea. I am American, and will complete undergraduate majors in English Literature and Second Language Education Studies and minors in diversity and possibly Korea Studies (I haven’t decided yet on the second). As of right now my University of Washington GPA is 3.69 after a little over a year of study, although I expect that it will go up over the course of the next year because my quarterly GPA has steadily increased since I became a UW student until it finally capped last quarter with a solid 4.0 quarterly GPA.
Although my recent grades are quite good my concern is that my early college course work is not so spectacular. Some quarters my GPA was within the 2.0 range, and a couple were even lower than that at the 2 year schools I attended before transferring. I wonder if these academic blemishes on my transcript will hurt my competitiveness for admission to graduate programs at the more prestigious Korean universities (Yonsei, Sogang, and SNL) to the point that it is not worth my time (or money) to bother with their application processes.

Your entire record will be sues for admission. Hopefully the “academic blemishes” will not have a major affect unless your admission is on the border line.
Good luck./
Hey! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and tell you I genuinely enjoy reading your articles. Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that deal with the same topics? Thank you!
I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was curious what all is needed to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100% certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
Gratuluje fajnej strony.
