Do any public schools offer online Doctoral Programs?

I know for-profit scam schools offer online graduate programs.

But I wanted to know if any public schools offer them, too.

I live in New York, and SUNY has online Master’s Degrees, and CUNY has online Bachelor’s Degrees.

How do graduate schools, and employers, view bachelor’s degrees from online colleges?

Do graduate schools judge students who received bachelors degrees online differently than on campus schools?

For instance, if I got my bachelor’s degree from an online school and got a 3.7 gpa, and then wanted to go to an on campus law school such as Suffolk Law or Boston University Law, would I be given equal scholarship consideration and fairness in judging the strength of my school if I got a bachelor’s online?

Also, would a student with the same credentials, but who attended an on campus schools preference over me?

What do you think are the pros and cons of doing undergrad online and then applying to on campus law schools?

Are there any online schools that provide doctorate degrees totally online?

I have found many with online programs – Walden, Liberty (I’m an alumna), Capella, etc. – but they all seem to require at least some time in on campus intensives or on site internships. As a business owner, I’m trying to avoid this. I spend all day working as it is – I really don’t want to go work at someone else’s job, too! Any sites are appreciated. By the way, I’m looking primarily in the human servies field, human resource management, etc.

What do graduate schools think of bachelors degrees from online schools?

I would like to get a bachelors in religion from American Public University.

How are Online Masters degrees from American Public University viewed by employers/managers?

I know APU is nationally accredited. But sometimes future employers can view a degree from an online college as a joke.

My b/f is giving a lot of thought to getting his Masters in Political Science from APU.

He says because it’s nationally accredited, that it’s legit and will be good for future employers.

I would like some feedback from those in the political science or related field.

He would likely get a beginner professor job after completing a Political Science Masters, or continue with a Phd program elsewhere.

Thank you
Thanks to the answers so far. They are great.

How do you feel about online degrees?

I’m 23 and I studied Sociology during my undergrad. I want to pursue a post graduate and PhD program for clinical Psychology with University of Phoenix but I’m afraid of how employers might view my credentials.

Online Versus Brick-And-Mortar Degrees (Business Phd/DBA)? Walden?

I’ve been looking at going back to school for an advanced degree in Business. I got my undergrad and my MBA from a respectable brick-and-mortar shools. I started looking at the online option because I’ve got no desire to quit my job (which most seem to require) and no desire to become a professor. I eventually settled on Walden. After doing some digging, they didn’t appear to be “sleazy” (which is the vibe I got from Phoenix / Capella). Most of the negative things I’ve read are about distance learning in general, and they appear just to be thrown in with the others because their a bit larger. Still, with the stigma, I’m a little skeptical about even getting started with them. Does anybody have any insight on this? As an alternative, I’ve been thinking about online programs pegged to a brick university. Is there a good place to look?

I’d appreciate it if none of the responses come from people who are affiliated with the schools I mentioned (incl. Walden). I’m trying to limit bias.
