Where are the best Adult Education PhD’s in the Us and Internationally?
I’m looking to do my PhD (not EdD) in Adult Education and am interested in doing it in the US, and possibly internationally. Does anyone know where the best colleges are or where a ranking is? It’s hard to do a google search because all that comes up are online degrees so if anyone has any input would be great!! I’m looking for some sort of guidance as to where the best programs are. Thanks!!
Thank you for asking for clarification!
Yes I mean adults either recently displaced from the workforce, corporate learning or higher education. I am interested in all adult education. I know it is is slightly broad but I am passionate about adult education as a whole and feel that often, educators feel that adults “have learned all the can” and such and want to expand that idea as much as I can. I know that is rather idealist but I really want to work in the adult sector helping where I can.
Anybody know a reputable, brick and mortar University where I can get my PhD in Education or an EdD online?
I already teach college English and want to get a doctorate in Education, but I can’t leave my teaching position to get it. I am concerned that an “online only” institution (like Capella or others) will not be repected by academia. But, all the regular universities near me in CA seem to have strict rules about working or diffficult schedules for classes. I want the best of both worlds. Low-residency programs would work too. Thanks!!
Is an online PhD in Health Education or Public Health program perceived the same as a on campus program?
I am currently considering returning to school to get my PhD in Health Education/Promotion or Public Health. I have researched both local on campus programs and a few online programs. I am currently leaning towards an online D.H.Ed. at A. T Stills University in Missouri. It has many of the same program components and coursework required by the on campus programs, but offers greater flexibility with my full time job and family obligations. I currently work for a medical university and do some teaching, but ideally I would like to pursue a full time teaching position at the University level. I have heard that online degrees in general are not given the same respect and consideration when hiring in academics, but with more and more schools providing online coursework, I was wondering if this has changed.
1. If I were to teach in the area of health education, medical education, or public health, so I have the same changes with a well structured online degree as I would with a traditional program?
2. Do this vary by regional area?
3. Has anyone heard anything about this university (they are well known for their medical school) or gotten a degree from this program?
Thanks.
What is the best/ or any graduate online school for Education….?
I’d like to earn a Masters in Education- Curriculum and Instruction. I’ve gone to University of Phoenix online, but would like a cheaper college
-For those who say online degrees aren’t respected, that may be true for some places (just like there is racism and other discrimination) but I am gainfully employed and licensed with my online MA.Ed from University of Phoenix so please don’t judge all online learning
Is there a doctoral program in education/school counseling that I can afford?
I have a B.A. in Psychology, a M.S.Ed in special education, and 30 additional credits including NJ state certification as a school counselor, and courses in literacy. I am 54 with 32 years in public education and a child in college and am looking to earn a doctorate in education or school counseling but I have very limited funding. Most doctoral programs, in class and online, seem to accept only about 3 courses and then charge about 10-15K for the remaining coursework. On top of my son’s college costs, this is impossible. I am looking for a university that would accept all 30 of my post-masters credits toward a doctorate and/or would exchange me teaching classes for tuition credit toward my doctorate. I also wonder if I can get any credit for my work experience. I am in the southern NJ area. Is there a way I can apply all I have already accomplished to abbreviate the time and reduce the cost of earning a doctorate?
Online PhD programs for new media and education?
I’m interested in new technologies and how they are/may be used in education. I like thinking about and using the tools, but I’m really interested in digging into their useability, and how they fit into or expand current thinking about various pedagogical models.
